We are a family run small business that serves the Haliburton County area along with the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). My sister and I have opened Mabel’s Bakeshop in honour of our Great Grandma Mabel Thibeau. She is someone who is very important to my sister and I. Mabel was an amazing Grandmother to our Mom Laurie Lynn and the four of us have the most amazing memories together. One thing that we can all agree on is that Mabel could bake anything!  Everything from her pies to loafs, cookies, squares, breads, and cakes! There was never a time that she wasn’t baking.   

 

Mabel learned to bake from a young age, she was only twelve when her mother died and it was up to her to take care of her sister and brother. This meant that it was up to her to cook for them. Mabel baked from the time she was twelve until she was eighty-five years old, and it was from that passion and dedication where we fell in love with baking as well!
